The ultimate skirt pattern! Both A-line and Asymmetric styles are included on the pattern and with a deep double layered fold over waistband, these skirts are flattering, super comfortable to wear and really quick to sew.
The pattern is multi-sized and printed on 80gsm white paper (not flimsy tracing paper) which is packaged in a white paper bag with an A4 book of instructions (example in last photo). This is NOT a downloadable pdf pattern that you have to print and stick together yourself.
The multi-size pattern includes 5 sizes which cover the following body measurements: HIP 88cm (34.5") to 104cm (41").
This pattern is only suitable for stretch knit fabrics. You can mix and match your fabrics, using a heavier, lower stretch knit for the skirt as long as you use a knit with some elastane content for the waistband.
This design is easy and will suit beginners that have just started to sew!
The pattern comes with a thorough instruction booklet which covers: * fabric requirements * cutting layouts * an explanation of fabric layouts and cutting * how to sew knit fabrics on a domestic sewing machine * instructions & diagrams for how to make both skirts.
The patterns are designed and written by Wendy Ward, an experienced designer and qualified teacher and they have been thoroughly road-tested by her eager sewing students. Rest assured you will find MIY Collection patterns well explained in down-to-earth and accessible language with clear, detailed diagrams. Wendy has been writing instructions for people just like you since 2007.

Everything about this pattern is pretty dreamy. It arrives on thick paper, so no need to print at home. And the instructions are in a large, easy to follow booklet. There's a lot of helpful info about choosing fabric and sewing with knits. The skirt went together really well - I made the a-line version. I wish I'd timed it, suffice to say it's a quick sew. No fastenings or edge finishing! I used ponte roma with a small amount of elastane and the result was just as I'd hoped - drapey but not clingy. It was my first attempt at a jersey skirt; I had thought about drafting my own pattern but I'm glad I invested in this instead - it's exactly what I wanted.
