Item details

This themed set of 3 premium rubber stamps is a Triskelt exclusive...a Welsh love spoon, a daffodil and a Welsh dragon.

These brand new rubber stamps are made of the finest materials in the U.S. The finely-etched red rubber is mounted on generous cushion material, then eastern maplewood; the wood mounting is indented on the sides to give a firm grip.

Use the set for all types of crafting projects involving Welsh culture and heritage. See below for some notes on these symbols.

The beautiful frame we used in our gallery photo is the St. David's Welsh Tartan, based on a 150-year-old tartan and produced in Wales.

Great for scrapbooking and paper projects of all kinds...hand-made cards, gift tags, special note paper, invitation & envelope decoration and more.

Stamp Image sizes:

* Love spoon: 1" by 3-1/2"

* Daffodil: 1" by 3"

* Dragon: 1-1/2" by 2"

Save 10% on these stamps by buying the set.

Notes on the symbols:

The Welsh Love Spoon:The custom of carving and giving Welsh Love Spoons originated in Wales hundreds of years ago. The young men of today would probably buy flowers, chocolates or jewelery as a token of affection. Centuries ago in Wales, the young lover would also give gifts of sweets or cakes; but they would also give a special, more personal gift to the object of their desire, the Welsh Love Spoon. The meaning of the various symbols used on the spoons is just fascinating!

The Welsh Dragon: This symbol of Welsh national independence was mentioned as early as 800 A.D. The red dragon symbolized the struggle between the Britons & Saxons and was an emblem adopted by Welsh princes. Today it is the most prominent symbol of Wales.

The Daffodil: The daffodil is the national flower of Wales and heralds the arrival of Spring. As it tends to bloom around March 1st, it has come to symbolize St. David's Day, commemorating the patron saint of Wales.
