This listing is for a March 1931 issue of House Beautiful Magazine. It is over 100 pages of interior design, architectural history, and landscape maintenance.
A fascinating look at the culture of the time, this magazine would be a great research tool. On the other hand, the slightly-oversized aged paper (9 3/4" x 12 3/4") would be great for scrapbooking, card making, or altered art projects. The cover alone is frameable art!
Wow. Here's an art-decolicious look at the life of the American wealthy in 1931. There are ads for silverware, furniture, and building supplies and three different automobile ads (very cool!). Articles include "Homes in Other Lands - Housekeeping in Holland," "Wise Economy in Building," and "Planting the House for the Business Woman." As always, there's Nancy Cooper's article, "Chats on Antiques" (ooh...!).
It is in very good shape for its age with the normal vintage wear. The spine is pretty worn on the outside, but it is strong. The pages are in black-and-white with front and back covers (and occasional ads) in color.
