Item details

This mouth-watering blend was inspired by summer sweet watermelon and combines kelly green and rich pinks with accents of black. We suggest gently shaking the frit prior to use to ensure the "seeds" (or small black frit pieces) are evenly distributed throughout the blend.

Available in 1 oz jars (by weight) for $4.50/jar.

Each sample bead shows how the frit looks over silver foil, a base of clear, white base then encased in clear and lastly over white.

All of our frits are in size FRIT 1, where each piece measures 1.0-2.4mm. We’ve found this size is the easiest to work with by providing even and smooth color distribution.

Frits are available in a number of COEs (coefficients of expansion) and from a number of manufacturers. While many flamework artists use soft glass with a COE of 104, most frits are made with glass having a COE of 96 because of the broad palette of colors and ability to be combined with other COE glass in small quantities.

All of our frit blends were created using beautiful Reichenbach glass and can be liberally used on any other glass with a COE of 96 (ie., Gaffer, System, Uroboros, Zimmerman or Kugler). Our blends can also be used on Effetre/Vetrofond glass (COE 104) or Bullseye (COE 90), however, it’s best to use the frit sparingly by ensuring it makes up no more than 5-15% of the overall bead. When in doubt, always make a few test beads before starting a large project. Our frits can also be used with Lauscha glass (COE 104), however, it’s recommend the frit only be applied to the surface of a bead made with Lauscha. Encasing with Lauscha typically results in cracking issues due to incompability.
