***You are NOT purchasing the actual finished, completed mannequin head****

THE PATTERN IS IN PDF File Form***

Customers: Please read the entire listing. Thank you so much. I have had a few individuals purchase a crochet pattern then send me a message asking where their baby dress form or mannequin head is, that they never received their shipment. To be clear, these are crochet patterns in PDF format that are available for INSTANT DOWNLOAD once purchased: NOT the actual finished item.

**This is recently updated and a re-designed pattern of my original 2012 pattern**

Finished size is approximately 20 inch circumference.
This will fit a small adult size hat or a larger child hat.

Option to create 22 inch circumference mannequin head is provided in the pattern.

Sizes given are based on average head sizes. Variations can occur depending on your gauge.

Materials needed:

Size F/5 3.75 crochet hook & about 400 yards of #24 Nylon Crochet Thread or
medium weight sturdy acrylic yarn (the cheap scratchy kind-such as craft rug yarn or Super Saver).
The #24 Nylon Crochet is recommended for best and sturdy results, however find a comparable acrylic sturdy yarn if you choose.

TIP: You can use #24 Nylon Seine Twine or #24 Nylon twisted Mason line found at many hardware stores, ebay, amazon, or other twine/cord shops online (such as net shops) Just make sure it's not tarred.

A heavyweight fiberfill to stuff the head (I use one that is made to stuff firmly for dolls/bears- a crafting fiberfill, because this has more weight to it than the lighter weight, fluffier version- Morning Glory Premium Polyester Fiberfill works well), yarn needle, safety pin to use as a marker (you will need to use a marker for this pattern). IT IS IMPORTANT TO REALLY STUFF THE MANNEQUIN WITH LOTS OF THE Course FIBERFILL TO REACH THE APPROXIMATE FINISHED SIZE.

Here are a few links to the Morning Glory Premium Fiberfil that I recommend for best results (not affiliated, just a helpful resource):

Pattern is worked in the round. The mannequin head is created in two parts: the head and a bottom section which is sewn on with yarn after stuffed.

YOU MUST USE FIRM COARSE DRY FIBERFILL TO STUFF WITH TO ACHIEVE BEST RESULTS. LIGHT FLUFFY TYPE WILL NOT ACHIEVE A MANNEQUIN HEAD THAT WILL BE STURDY AND STABLE ENOUGH. I USE FAIRFIELD CRAFTERS CHOICE THAT SAYS IT IS A COURSE DRY FIBERFILL. Or Morning Glory Premium Fiberfill works well too.

YOUR PERSONAL GAUGE WILL AFFECT SIZE, USE A HOOK SIZE UP IF YOU KNOW YOU CROCHET WITH A TIGHTER TENSION.

There are NO RETURNS on the pattern. YOU NEED ADOBE READER to read the file: I send in PDF format.

This is my original pattern.

FAQs

Although I'm not taking custom orders right now, I do list my original designs and creations periodically. Please frequently check my shop for new listings. I list my whimsical fairy mannequins less frequently since they take many hours to create.

Of course! But if you wouldn't mind giving me design credit in your listing, that would be a lovely acknowledgment.

I sure hope so! However, each persons skill level, creation process, quality and type of materials used, and other factors will likely yield variances in results. In my patterns I specify the suggested materials to be used in order to achieve the expected results. However, as I mentioned, each person brings their own unique qualities to a completed project. In addition, the stuffing process takes time and finesse and you should view the stuffing process as a molding, forming process that will make or break your final creation result. Please send me a convo if you have a question or need clarity on part of crochet pattern instruction. Although I have a 'real' job aside from Etsy, I will try to get back to you as soon as I can.

If you are struggling with a pattern and not having successful results in creating your mannequin head or dress form, then don't hesitate to contact me. It's discouraging to have people leave feedback without discussing any possible solutions first. Like most artisans, I take my designs and patterns seriously and to heart. I want you to be successful to the best of your ability to create an item using my patterns. I've purchased patterns before from other designers and always contact them to have my questions or concerns answered. Feedback is appreciated and is always useful. In today's world of 'feedback' driven commerce, positive feedback is always a goal for me and many artisans who choose to sell on Etsy. Thank you
