The Angel Sleeve dress is pure classic—the simplest of forms for a little girl--with full gathers falling from the neck and a flutter of a sleeve. Make it full or blouse length, and solid or with contrasting panels. Add rickrack to the sleeves if you'd like. Every girl needs a few.
It is the perfect way to let a gorgeous piece of fabric (such as the Liberty London Tana Lawn used for the Blouse and skirt pictured) speak for itself. No complications. Or make it with the contrasting panels and make a bigger statement.
This listing is for a 57-page PDF sewing pattern with a digitally-drafted print-at-home pattern (with clear instructions to help you print, cut and tape it together) and a detailed photo tutorial for making the solid or contrasting panel versions of the Angel Sleeve Dress or Blouse. I've also included instructions for adding rickrack trim to the sleeves.
BONUS: You can find a free pattern for a matching doll dress on my blog http://www.aestheticnest.com/2015/04/sewing-easter-angel-sleeve-dresses-for.html
**NEW: I've also included optional copy-shop PDF files for printing the patterns on 24" wide paper. Contact a local copy shop about printing in black and white on regular paper if you want to avoid cutting and taping together the at-home pattern. They typically charge for printing by the square foot. Note there are separate patterns for the solid version and the paneled version of the dress/blouse.**
The Angel Sleeve Dress and Blouse are good beginner patterns. They require basic sewing skills such as straight stitching, top-stitching, hemming, and threading elastic. No buttons, button-hole making or zippers! No serger is required.
Though this file does not include a photo tutorial for making a simple gathered skirt as pictured with the Angel Sleeve Blouse, I have included some brief instructions and advice about measurements.
The Angel Sleeve Dress and Blouse pattern includes sizes 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months, 18 months-24 months, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

This is a sweet pattern, and the dress is very easy to sew. I made one, and it turned out very well. The only difficulty I had was in piecing the pattern together--I didn't expect it to be hand-drawn. It took a few minutes, but I figured it out, and it came together nicely. The dress runs true to size--I made a 3-6 month dress for my almost 6 month old baby, and it fits her perfectly. Thanks!
