This is a cute camera that would make a great display or conversation piece to put on your bookshelves.
I have cleaned up the camera itself with rubbing alcohol and a whole lot of Q-tips and cotton balls. This camera is in good condition with no real rust stains that I can see. Film for this camera is no longer available so it is mainly being sold as a prop or for display.
Produced: 1972-1975 / Original Retail: $??.??
Origianlly produced between 1971 and 1972 the Square Shooter was a Ridged Plastic Bodied, Packfilm Type 80 instant camera. Although similar to the Colorpack II the Square Shooter was considered more advanced and that was reflected in the retail price of $34.95 as opposed to the Colorpack II retail price of $29.95.
The Square Shooter featured:
A built in socket for Hi-Power flashcubes, a "Focused Flash" system.
Triangulation distance finder.
Exsposure system designed only for 75 ASA films.
Typically they also featured the adjustable front cell focusing lens with distance scaling marked on the lens ring.
"Everset" shutter that did not need recocking.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
**** All of my "film tested" cameras are tested with actual film, and not an empty film cartridge to see if it powers up and goes through the motions. I am making sure that everything works (shutter, mechanics, spreader bars, etc.. ), and that the pictures come out and are able to develop. Film is not cheap so that is why the cameras are a little more expensive than some other shops. I am giving you the peace of mind that the camera is definitely going to work when you put unused film in it! ***
