Sewing Pattern - vintage dress pattern – Vogue 8460 – from the 1950s

This gorgeous dress design will show off any fabric and make the wearer look stunning. I especially love the idea, depicted on the black version on the envelope, of lining the skirt in a different color. This would make it extra special in a subtle way.
The pattern's original owner has written in pencil on the envelope front: "This one takes very little time to make". Lucky you!
From the pattern envelope: "Very easy to make"
"Four piece flared skirt has pocket in side seams and joins the bodice at waist-line. Low shaped neck-line, front and back. Very short cap sleeves. Skirt may be lined to edge."
Suggested fabrics: crepe, linen, pique, cotton broadcloth, worsted, flannel, lightweight woollen, alpaca, velveteen, corduroy, velvet, shantung, surah and denim. 9 pieces.
If this is not your size, but you are interested in customizing the fit of this design, please see Threads magazine's helpful article describing the process in detail: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/4424/quick-reference-for-cut-and-spread-pattern-grading (by Terry Horlamus, from Threads #101, pp. 66-70).
Fair condition. The envelope graphics are sharp. There is envelope tearing, especially along the edges. The pieces are pre-cut and marked via hole punches in the pattern tissue, as was the common practice back then. (The instructions tell you how to interpret the hole punches.) There is some yellowing, as expected due to age. Some scribbling on envelope front. Note that both versions of the dress design have a "V"-neckline in front and back. Please see all photos.
This item is an original vintage sewing pattern. The pattern copyright date is 1954. This vintage sewing pattern does not include a finished garment, notions, fabric or a fabric label.
