Item details

These bright little flowers were once thought to cause the yellow colour of butter however cows avoid eating buttercups because of their acrid flavour.

The Latin name for buttercups is Ranunculus which means “little frog”, probably referring to the flower’s tendency to grow near water.

This pattern is worked in the round and I use abbreviations according to US crochet language. I can provide the pattern in UK crochet language if preferred, please just contact me.

The finished buttercup is approximately 1.75” (4.5cm) in diameter. This flower would be beautiful as an embellishment or hair-clips.

Tools Needed:
US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook
scissors
yarn needle

Yarn Needed:
DK acrylic yarn in golden yellow and lime green.

This pattern is also featured in my English Country Garden Book 1 ebook which is available to purchase for $9.

If you need any help or advice please feel free to contact me.

This pattern is for personal use only.
