Make a statement at your next girls luncheon or high tea with this lovely, lace knitted top; the buttons down the front are a feature you can customise to reflect your own sense of personal style and taste (pearls, diamante, cute black round etc). A lovely addition to a Summer wardrobe. Wear it with a full circle or pencil skirt to complete the retro look or with a suit.
Tension for yarn substitution: 9 stitches per inch.
The original design was among a number sold by a large Australian wool company in the 30's, 40's and 50s. The pattern, published originally in Australia is now in the public domain. It is a condition of sale that the pattern not be duplicated, redistribued and/or resold.

Thank you for your interest in my shop. I enjoy being apart of the etsy community and appreciate your business.
Please choose carefully as I do not refund pattern purchases due to change of mind. This has been my policy since I opened my shop in 2011.
The pattern reproductions in my shop are chosen from some of my favourites in my collection and I am so happy to be able to share them with you. I recently had enquiry about 'who' wrote the original patterns. In most cases the patterns I sell were originally reproduced by Australian woollen mills, the vast majority of which no longer exist. In almost all cases, the mills never attributed designs to one particular individual. Dating research on provenance. where pattern books were not dated, ensures that patterns in my shop are almost exclusively dated before 1 January 1955 which is when amendments were retrospectively applied to Australian
copyright law in line with international free trade agreements.
Patterns sold at VanessaLovesVintage cannot be on sold or redistributed as a condition of sale. I am thrilled to hear that some customers enjoy making these designs for markets and school bazaars- if we are talking small quantities I have no issue at all.
Finally, I always love to see completed garments. Send me photos! It is wonderful to keep the art of knitting alive.
