Cabled Gnome Bonnet Knitting Pattern in 6 Sizes

PLEASE NOTE: This is a set of instructions, not the physical object.
Once you have paid, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading your pattern pdf, along with 3 other files:
1) yarn and needle terminology and equivalents
2) how to make your own double-pointed needles
3) newborn photography and digital editing tips

(Think! Who do you know that's a knitter?)
Actually, with all the videos on YouTube, there's no excuse for not learning any more!

Perfect for baby pictures and also a warm little hat for cool weather wear.
Using chunky yarn, this bonnet knits up quickly.

Instructions are given for knitting the bonnet in 6 sizes:
Newborn for photography
Larger Newborn to 3 months
3 to 6 months
6 to 12 months

I specialize in clear, thorough instructions, and coaching is included!
If you get stuck, I can usually send you a link to a good online video.

This is a back and forth project, and cables are really not that hard.
There are two versions for the brim: knitted on (easier) and by picking up stitches.
Notice the different brim details in the photos.

Permission is granted to make hats knitted from this pattern.

Many thanks to test knitter Mandi Yelland of for test knitting, and to Andrea Kinter for the precious photograph.

File delivery
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.

I accept credit cards, Etsy gift cards, and PayPal as instant payments.

If none of these work for you, I will also accept a US check or money order by mail.
I'm sorry, but no Canadian checks or money orders. The fees to process them cost more than their face value, usually.

Returns & exchanges

I do accept returns on knitted items if returned immediately, but I cannot refund the shipping fee you pay to me, nor the money you pay the post office to send it back to me.

Additional policies

I welcome questions about custom orders.
