Here is an excellent vintage sewing pattern for a 1940's bag using two strong contrasts... the original model was in bright canary yellow leather with navy top and tab fastening.
A simple shape to cut and easy to make up on an ordinary sewing machine. Size: 11 inches long by 7 and half inches deep
There are no actual pattern pieces .. you have to make up your own from a diagram ...however, I have greatly enlarged the schematic and the shapes are quite simple to copy. You could even enlarge on a copier to achieve the correct size.
I have re-written the pattern details and added extra information to the original instructions to give more clarity and ease of working. I am not too sure of the publication date but around 1943 - 45!
The original purse was made in leather but would look fabulous made up in furnishing fabrics or soft suede, needlecord and felt would also make great alternative.
The pattern instructions will be sent to you quickly as an instant download pdf ....please ensure you have the correct email address to avoid any delays.
This pattern in this format and new version is copyright to me, please respect the time it takes to reproduce these old patterns and not to share or buy to re-sell.
