Hand carved from a single stone. Here is a beautiful collectable Fire Agate cabochon. Measuring over 81 carats, this rare gem quality stone features botryodial fire of greens, and gold with a touch of blue and purple with a wonderful play of color in the brown chalcedony coating. A true collector stone, fire agate this large is extremely rare.
Fire agate is more rare than diamonds and is only found in a few locations in the world. It has a unique play of color similar to opal, but is much more durable. We collected this from the Cuesta Mine, off Old Route 66 near Oatman, Arizona.
It has a hand carved dished front face and measures 49.7 x 25.95 x 9.4 mm, and weighs 16.3 grams, (1-15/16 x 1 x 3/8", 81.5 carats). It also has a bevel and flat ground around the circumference for mounting
We dig, cut, grind and polish all our own stones, and each one is shaped and specially treated to bring out the most mother nature left us. They are truly Rare Earth Treasures.
