100gr (3.4 oz approx) of premium combed New Zealand Halfbred wool, custom dyed for your spinning or feltmaking.
Soft and shimmery for beautiful, unique spinning or feltmaking. A well-prepared top containing very little vegetable matter or short fibre. the subtle shading of the natural colour adds depth and dimension to the overdyed colour. I love this wool - it is wonderful to spin, making a beautiful fine yarn suitable for next-to-skin wear.
Beautiful 24.5 (average) micron N.Z. wool from Haunui Handcraft Wools, a specialist hill country craft flock from South Canterbury. Over 25 years of intensive crossbreeding of NZ Halfbred (substantially, a merino style breed) and Romney have gone into creating this premium combed top.
This wool shows typical NZ Halfbred character – merino loftiness – enlivened with a little longwool lustre.
Please convo me with any questions or to purchase a larger amount. I dye in small batches, but these are closely monitored so most times will not show much variation and can be mixed in one project.
The photos are examples only, actual colour may vary between batches and according to your monitor settings.
Really lovely. Very pleased, thank you.
