Christmas Art Carols Dec 1953 Realites Magazine Versailles Bargemon Cellini Pisanello

Rare December 1953 (Number 37) Special Christmas Issue of Realites Magazine, Paris Edition in English. Soft cover magazine measuring 12.5" by 9.5" with 72 pages featuring articles of fashion, politics, social issues, arts and entertainment, etc., as they pertain to French culture.

The pages of this vintage French magazine are filled with photographs and paintings in color and black and white, including many vintage advertisements for French products such as Chanel, Monnaie, Cognacs by Rouyer and Martell, and Pour Toi Seul Parfum De Lincourt. We have dozens of photos for this issue but can list only 5 on Etsy, so it is difficult to fully appreciate the impressive content of this issue. Please contact us if you would like us to email you links to additional photos.

Articles in this issue include:
News From Paris: Margaret Biddle's Newsletter (France's Prospects) and Paul Cartier's Diary: Personal notes on the month's events (Jonah swallows Paris - Paris Discovers Christopher Columbus - Tarzan in the Paris jungle.)
The Spirit Of Christmas: French Carols
Art And Religion: How the Great Masters Told the Christmas Story
The Cold War: The New Look in Western Strategy
Life In The French Provinces: Bargemon: Profile of a Village
Fine Arts: The Life of Benvenuto Cellini
Wonders Of The West: Versailles: The Sleeping Beauty Comes to Life
European Recovery: How Guts and Good Sense Keep Holland Going
Great Masters: Pisanello: Enigma of the Renaissance
Holidays: Greek Encounter
Fiction: The Colonel's Bridge: A novel by Pierre Boulle, Part III

Copy is in very good condition overall for it's age. For our Vintage Realites Magazines, this condition may include light rubbing and soiling of the cover with edgewear, possibly small tears, chips and bumping to the corners and spine. May also show some leaning and a crease along the spine from reading and faint musty odor typical of magazines that are over 50 years old. Pages in general are clean and bright and the binding remains tight.
