Here's all you need to fill any of our beautiful cremation urn jewelry. This kit helps you place human or pet cremation ashes, beach sand, Sacred Earth or dried ceremonial flowers into the urn itself.

Aluminum Funnel
Wooden filling sticks
Plastic Bags

The Aluminum Funnel Kit itself measures approx. 1 & 3/8" long and 20mm or 7/8" high. The top opening of the funnel is 18mm or 5/8" The diameter of the spout at the bottom is 4 mm or 1/8".

Filling Instructions for Cremation Urn Jewelry

Here’s the best way we know to fill your new cremation urn jewelry.

1. Be sure to work over a table, so that the screw on the urn or the materials you are filling the urn with are not lost.

2. Unscrew the urn to access the inner compartment. If you are filling an urn ring or cylinder style urn pend when you open the top, you'll find either a plastic bag or an inner, screw top plastic bottle.

3. Insert the funnel in the kit into the opening where you want to place the contents. For some pieces this will be directly above the inner compartment, for others, it will be into the bag/bottle that will then be placed inside the outer urn necklace.

4. Use the small black pointed tool in the kit to scoop up the material you are using.

5. Scoop just a small amount of the material into the curved end of the black tool and push this through the funnel you have positioned over the opening (above the inner compartment or into a bag/bottle).

6. Use the tan filing sticks in the kit to push your material through the funnel and into opening.

7. Be sure not to overfill the urn.

8. Once filled, clear the threads of screws (or outer edges of bags/bottles) of any loose material before closing. Plastic bags should be filled but still able to seal easily. The same is true for the plastic, screw-top bottles. You can now insert the bag/bottle into your urn jewelry.

9. Apply epoxy or another gel type glue to the screw or along the outer edges, top and bottom, of urn ring. Use a very small amount (a bead on the end of a toothpick is enough). Be sure the epoxy/glue is not visible on the outside, only the inside edges.

10. Insert the epoxied/glued screw and turn to close. Close the top of an urn ring. It's important not to over tighten the screw in an urn, forcing this usually causes the urn to break.

11. Allow six hours for the epoxy or glue you use to dry before wearing your new piece of cremation urn jewelry.

Watch for our suggestions of which funnel kit is best for each piece in our cremation jewelry line on the product pages. We always recommend that once filled, you seal your new urn jewelry permanently (see instructions above) with epoxy or another gel type glue to keep the contents safe and dry.

FAQs

According to our resident gemologist, Connie, the Ball chain is one of the most wearable and durable type of chain out there today. It does not kink, can be custom sized with a pair of nippers, and will work with lots of different pendant types. You'll notice pendants hang well, move easily and tend not to tangle with other chains..

A memorial keepsake needs to stand the test of time. Stainless steel has weight to it. It takes engraving well and is non-tarnish and hypo-allergenic. Add to that it resists scratching and is not as delicate as other metals. The color is a clean neutral gray that looks great on a chain or black satin cord, fitting right in with the jewelry you already own and wear. Best, most importantly of all, you want the keepsake, ashes, beach sand, Sacred Earth or dried ceremonial flowers to stay safe and secure. Properly sealed, stainless steel urn jewelry will do that for years to come.

Many of our cremation urn pieces can be engraved with a name, initials, dates or short verse, as space permits to create a personalized and unique ashes keepsake. Check the listing for the urn you want to see if engraving is an option - some of our urns are not suited to engraving. Please contact us through Etsy Conversations for a price quote on your engraved text before placing your product order. You'll get a message from Connie with the price for the engraving work on the cremation jewelry you want. Once you have an engraving price quote, order your item on Etsy and add your engraving text and style (block = regular text; script = cursive handwriting) in the ADDED NOTES section of your Etsy order form.

Filling your new cremation urn jewelry needs to be done with care. The contents are precious after all. Our Aluminum Funnel Kit is ideal (above industry standards too) for almost all our urns. The Plastic Funnel Kit has a smaller opening and is just the right size for some pieces. We offer both types so that our customers can fill their new piece of cremation urn jewelry easily and neatly. Please check the listing on the urn you are considering for a fill kit recommendation. Once filled, we always suggest you seal your urn jewelry with epoxy or another gel type glue to seal the precious contents inside.

Any engraving we do on an item for you is at an additional charge. Our master engraver handles these requests with care and an understanding of what looks good and will fit on a particular piece of our cremation urn jewelry. You will be given the added charge before you place your order. This allows us to give you a price quote and ordering instructions and speeds the processing of your order.

No. You pay the full shipping cost for the first item you order, each additional item that is part of that order ships for no additional charge. Please be sure to use the "Add to Cart" button when ordering as this will calculate shipping costs on orders of more than one item correctly. Orders with more than one item are packaged and shipped together and arrive in one package.

After filling your cremation urn jewelry, we always recommend that you seal your urn with epoxy or another gel type glue to protect the precious contents. Filling instructions are in the listings for the Aluminum and Plastic Funnel Kits. Also, the epoxy should be allowed to set for six hours before you wear your piece. Please note that 925 sterling silver is more delicate, and requires more care than other metals.

It depends on the piece you choose. Generally, cylinder shapes, and those with inner bottles will hold the most. Capsules also hold a larger amount. Other shapes, like hearts and tears, tend to have a smaller space for ashes or other keepsakes. Glass pieces usually have the smallest spaces. Our bracelet urns generally have very small spaces to hold ashes or other keepsakes.

I didn't get to see this item personally, but I will say that the funeral home did _not_ return it to me with the pendants I'd purchased *hahahaha* That tells me that they found it to be helpful for their needs in filling teeny tiny little keepsake urns. Thanks again to a wonderful shop owner~
