Cute beret with a garter stitch brim, that creates a warm headpiece and an interesting design. The garter stitch brim falls out to a simple beret (optional pom-pom). The pattern calls for a Scottish yarn that really complements the beret style.
Knitted in the round this is a seamless beret.
You will require 2/50g balls of New Lanark DK Wool to complete (shown here in Limestone).
The pattern uses approximately 75grams (including for the pom-pom), about 190-210 yards.
If substituting with another yarn then work to a gauge of:
21 stitches and 32 rows = 10cm in stocking stitch using 3.5mm needles.
Great pattern. I ordered special wool from Scotland for an Outlander look.
