This image is from a batik by Carol and hails the sun's warmth on the garden's crops. Carrots and beets, root vegetables, all grow from the beneficial effect of sun. This fabric shows the above and below ground view that I enjoy working with. The colorful patterns below represent the nutrients in the soil that promote growth. The bottom photo on the right shows me beginning to paint wax on the fabric with a tool called a tjanting. This tool has a brass bowl with a spout that is used to create wax lines that will resist the dye. Anyone loving the earth and growing things will love to own this cheerful fabric print. The feature image shows the 7" x 10" image, the final image is the double mirror 7" x 20" second option. The last option is a repeat again of the last.
The fabric, titled "Garden of Summer Growing Energy" is available here in different sizes 7" x 10" for $8.00 7" x 20" for $12.00 7" x 36" for $16.00 If you would like a smaller 5" x 7" swatch for $4.50, contact me I will list it for you It is custom printed for me by Spoonflower. It is machine washable cool, iron as usual. This batik design is also available in larger and longer fabric sizes and in prints, a trivet , cards, a scarf and a cutting board. Please contact me if you need help finding something.
