Organic Herb Seed Collection

We believe strongly that everyone should have their own garden of edibles - no matter how small. An essential ingredient to any decent meal preparation is also having a basic collection of herbs to harvest from your own garden. you will find there is absolutely nothing like freshly harvested herbs!

This collection includes a packet of each of the following:

All seeds organically grown

{ Genovese Basil }
A kitchen garden favorite and classic Italian basil known for its large, rich green fragrant leaves. Excellent for fresh eating particularly in pasta salads or pesto. Plants tend to be very tender and will not tolerate cold weather. Genovese grows like a small shrub and has massive leaves. Harvest it frequently for continuous growth. I also use the leaves in flower arrangements since the leaves are so rich and green. Six plants in the garden proved to be four more than we could use. Highly productive plants so we ended up using them as much for flower arrangements and decorative greens for various rooms in the house. 70 days to maturity. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Blue Flowering Borage }
Hardy herb grown for its medicinal and culinary use. We also use it as a fantastic natural fertilizer. Plants large and bushy so provide plenty of space to enable it to grow. One plant proved to be a handful. A bee magnet, it prefers well drained soil but did not seem fussy when planted where the ground was not as rich. 5 seeds per packet.

{ Scallion Onions }
Beautiful, long green stems provide excellent onion flavoring. Use greens as fresh scallions and the white part of the stem when an onion is needed. All parts of the plant impart an onion flavor. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Korean Perennial Garlic Chives }
Hardy chives impart an intense and distinctive flavor of garlic. This particular variety comes directly from a former Korean neighbor and garden friend who would harvest these onions by the basket full. Used for dumpling and soups, she swore by this variety as the only garlic chive worth growing. Easy perennial in the garden. If your area freezes, just heavily mulch the plants after you remove the leaves and it should return the following spring. Also naturally expands. 20 seeds per packet.

{ English Mint }
Another essential kitchen garden herb is surprisingly just as easy to grow from seed as it is to grow from a cutting. Used fresh, as a tea, herbal remedy or cooked, it is always handy to have fresh mint when needed. Prefers moist growing conditions but will literally grow anywhere. Can be quite invasive if grown in the ground. Plant in pots and harvest frequently to keep the plant rejuveniated. Seeds are quite fine. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Hera Dill }
Hera has become a gourmet favorite for its dark, blue-green ferny foliage. Has a very vibrant flavor of dill and seed is excellent for pickling. Very slow to bolt. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Gigante d'Italia Parsley }
Absolutely delicious and hardy plants which produce long stems and flat leaves. Plants are a rich dark green. Use as a cut and come again variety. Excellent leaf production when kept harvested. One plant lasted an entire year. Allow to self-seed for future plants as that is one of the easiest ways to get new plants. 70 days to maturity. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Sweet Marjoram }
Beautiful and highly fragrant plants are often used an an oregano substitute but I find the flavor to be distinctively different. Plants produce lovely, round green leaves and plants easily grow 1 foot tall. Will continue producing new leaves if kept cut. Very easy to grow as a container herb. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Italian Oregano }
Fragrant herb has been part of gardens for centuries. This variety graces the sides of mountains of Italy and is used not only as a culinary herb but a medicinal one as well. Tends to grow as a cascading herb that will grow close to the ground. Leaves are a purplish-green. Thrives in poor soil. 20 seeds per packet.

{ Summer Savory }
Lovely plant is often grown as a small shrub where the plants can grow to nearly 2 feet tall. Use leaves dried or fresh. Very commonly used culinary herb for many types of dishes including soups, stews, rice, beans and meats. Flowers attract beneficial insects. 70 days to maturity. 20 seeds per packet.

{ German Thyme }
Hardy perennial is another very commonly used herb. Incredibly easy to grow, you will be amazed by the rich flavor it imparts when used fresh. Contains wonderfully potent volatile oils which substantially enhance the flavor of everything it is used with. harvest regularly and do not allow the stems to become woody so you have a continual supply of harvestable leaves. Low growing plant will cascade over pots if planted in containers. 20 seeds per packet.

Individual packets in the collection are subject to availability and may be substituted as necessary. Order early!

CUSTOM ORDERS:
I am overly happy to help you save on shipping costs by creating a CUSTOM ORDER for you. This means I combine all your products into one listing so you are not having to pay the additional per item shipping fees as a result of purchasing individual items.

Creating a CUSTOM ORDER is done fairly quickly (generally within the same day) but does require additional time, energy and money by me. Due to the unusual number of requests that are not completed some customers may be blocked or asked to make a purchase to cover the listing of the custom order. This will be done with requests that are not fulfilled. This will prevent me from taking time away from other customers who actually want to complete a custom order request.

STEPS TO CREATING A CUSTOM ORDER:
1. Select the items of interest by either placing them in your cart or jotting down the item and quantity desired.

2. Using the 'CUSTOM ORDER' button, click REQUEST CUSTOM ORDER, located on the front of the shop page.

3. Cut and paste all items of interest and include it in that message to send it to me ALONG with the location (city, state OR country) where the items will ship to.

4. You will receive an acknowledgement by me once the request is received. You will also receive additional details about the listing.

5. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by clicking on the CONTACT THE SHOP OWNER button on the front page of the shop.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
We do ship internationally. However, international customers please make sure your country allows the importation of seeds before placing an order. Seller is not responsible for any items which have been or may be confiscated. Buyer is also responsible for any import duties or taxes associated with the order request. Buyer is expected to know the policies of the country where they are requesting the delivery.

Currently, the minimum shipping charge is $8 to ship outside of the US due to an increase in international postage fees.

RESHIPPING FEES:
Due to the cost of materials and shipping charges any reshipping incur a minimum fee of $8 to ship to the US and $13 to ship internationally.

If, however, you receive an order and are not satisfied with your purchase, you are welcomed to return it within one week of receipt for a full refund. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs.

FAQ:

Q1: Do you combine shipping costs?
A1: Absolutely! If you choose the 'custom listing' feature, I will gladly combine shipping costs for you so you can save on shipping costs.

Q2: Do you offer larger seed packets?
A2: Thanks for asking! In some cases I do. However, my packets are specifically designed for the home gardener who 'typically' does not want or need a large quantity of one variety of seeds. I figure there's no justifiable reason to bulk up packages asking you to pay more just to engineer a larger sale. That's not how I conduct business.

While there are many who provide larger packets of one variety of seeds, the investment, when purchasing multiple packets, can be significant. In most cases, the packets I'm offering can provide more plants than a home gardener would realistically need in a kitchen garden - with plenty of seed for the following year or season, if desired.

As a home gardener, every effort is made to offer selections of magnificent culinary, growing and varietal value. Please ask for larger quantities of seed if there's something in particular you need. If I have it, I'm always more than happy to share with you.

Q3: How are seeds packaged?
A3: I personally hand pack each and every packet before packages go out to ensure the best quality and freshest seeds arrive to you. As insane and old fashioned as it sounds, it's true. It's really important to me your package arrives the way I like to receive packages. It's about more than just making sure it gets to you, it's about making sure you receive the best quality always. I demand that for myself and will accept nothing less for you.

Q4: I see your note about creating a custom listing. How does that work so I can save on shipping?
A4: This is absolutely the best idea as I truly do not like seeing people waste money on extra shipping costs where they don't have to. I will gladly combine all your items into one listing so you are charged flat rate shipping rather than the per-item fee when purchasing individual listings.

Send me a list of the items you wish to purchase in a 'convo'.
Include the ship to location (city/state if in the US or country if international)

I'll send you a link to your custom listing with all the items requested at one flat rate.

Q5: How often do you update the items in your shop?
A5: I update my shop with new products at least weekly and most of the time it's daily. Send me a convo and I'll send you a link where you can see the items available. I am no longer updating the Etsy shop with new items as often as I update my site due to time restrictions. Thanks for asking!
