Iris Drop Earrings are cute little dangles that are small enough to be comfortable and fancy enough to be noticed. Each drop is a beaded bead with holes at the tip of each point. So you can use them as components by linking them together with wire and jump rings, or string them to make necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The finished size of the Iris Drop without the jump ring and ear wire is about 1 inch (25 mm) tall, 5/8 (16 mm) inches wide and 3/8 inch (8 mm) thick. Finished earrings are about 1 1/2 inches long. This pattern is suitable for intermediate bead weavers. Some basic knowledge of bead weaving is helpful. The design is a bit challenging, intermediate but not advanced, and I show lots of photos and illustrations to help you with every step. And with just 3.5 feet of thread each, they weave up pretty quickly.
The tutorial is 11 pages, including 62 illustrations and photographs. The tutorial is a PDF file that gives step by step instructions for all of the earrings in the photos. However, the pattern does not explain the details of wire wrapping briolette beads like in the last two photos. The pattern includes two pages of these and other examples, with photographs and written commentary.
This listing is for the tutorial only. Materials are not included. The tutorial includes materials lists but if you are a bead weaver, you probably already have everything you need except maybe the rose montees, which are very easy to find.
