No, I'm sorry but they cannot be used on Royal Icing. I preserve the edible Gems that I make in a small amount of vegetable oil to prevent scratching and retain shine. Royal and Oil do not work well together. My edible Gems are best used on Fondant or, for short term, Butter Cream confections.
