Supersoft Cormo wool blended into a baby-soft very cushy roving with silk 30%. This is a customer favorite. It drafts like butter. The staple length is a little longer than most merino. Usually Cormo is dense on its own, but this is lighter now and has the additional sheen from the silk.
We like to purchase from small fiber producers who value their animals. Beautiful fiber only comes from healthy animals. This listing is for 4 ounces of fiber, ready to spin.
It will produce a next-to-skin soft yarn with some drape, so it would be ideal for a luxurious scarf or anywhere that quality is wanted.
For those of you who want to compare cormo and merino, of course, both are fine wools and next-to-skin soft. To my touch, merino has a silkier feel and cormo has more of a "marshmallow" type of softness. It's really hard to quantify or describe; let's just say all of us who are fiber addicts never get tired of the infinite variety we find in touching and handling great fiber.
Cormo also felts well. Blended as it is in this roving, the wool fibers will "trap" the silk and give the felted object, such as in a nuno felted scarf, a gorgeous glistening highlight.
Please note, roving is more expensive to ship by weight because I pack it in a box to prevent smashing your lovely lofty spinning fiber, not in a poly mailer.
