Due to a change in suppliers for my colorants, I will be updating my formula to make use of the new colorants. Until now, I have been using my existing supplies of my previous supplier's colorant to keep making these with the same ingredients, but I am running out of those colorants. The updated versions will be released in the new bottles, the old formulas will not be sold in those bottles. This listing is for the older, un-updated version of Phoenix Feathers.
Phoenix Feathers is a color shifting nail polish. It is a warm, red-toned purple base with shimmer that shifts from red to gold to green, and flashes vivid red and bright green at the extremes of its color range. It's beautiful, and my pictures don't do justice to the color shift. It is opaque with two or three coats, but can also be layered to preserve the polish. The nail wheel swatches show three coats alone.
The wonderful Lauren of Dizzy Nails was kind enough to review this polish. The first picture is hers. Her photos are fabulous and capture the polish much better than mine. Please go see her review here: http://www.dizzynails.com/2012/08/starlight-and-sparkles-mythological.html
The last picture shows what the 15mL and 5mL bottles will look like.
This polish contains "unicorn pee" pigment. The red to green color shifting pigment in the Phoenix polishes is the same kind of pigment that's in the original elusive unicorn pee polishes (Clarins 230, Liquid Euphoria Bliss, etc).
Phoenix Feathers is a custom polish, made from scratch with nail lacquer base, pigments, and color shifting pigment. Starlight Polish is 5 free, meaning free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor, and contains no carmine or other animal-derived pigments.
