Item details

PDF KNITTING PATTERN for a pair of fingerless mitts featuring a Greater Spotted Woodpecker hanging with his claws onto the side of a tree. The design was inspired by the woodpeckers in my father’s Suffolk garden.

The gloves in the photograph were knitted using approximately 30/40gm Rowan 4ply pure wool in mid grey for the background, along with about 10gm black and oddments of white, red, dark grey and beige. Of course, any brand of 4ply weight wool, cashmere or cotton could be used instead.

The glove pattern includes a chart for knitting the mitts using the intarsia method, but I guess the gloves could be made in plain stocking stitch and the motifs added afterwards by using duplicate stitch/swiss darning.

Typed instructions for knitting the gloves and both colour and black-and-white symbol charts are included in the PDF knitting pattern for the mitts. This will be sent by email to your Paypal address after payment has been made. If you want it sent elsewhere, please let me know.

Please note, this is a KNITTING PATTERN ONLY, not the actual gloves.
