For sale are 1 ounce packages of English rabbit fiber, in a variety of colors: black, grey, pure white, and ‘broken’ (primarily white with dashes of brown/black/grey).
I always hand groom to harvest our fiber; brushing these animals is not only relaxing (to both the groomer and the bunny!) but it lends itself to a longer staple (fiber length) which is more beneficial for spinning. Our English fibers come from Chieftain Paddy Moloney, Rudy, Darby O'Gill, Periwinkle, Lavender Sky and Mary Bailey; we raise them right here on our farm, and they are treated well & handled often!
Our fiber is not washed (that can cause felting, and is usually done after spinning into yarn) but is clean (with no mats) and picked free of vegetable matter. It is attractively packaged, and shipped within 1-2 business days of purchase. Angora fiber is soft, you will not find anything softer, and it is 7 times warmer than wool. The general rule of thumb is to blend it with alpaca or sheep’s wool to a ratio of no more than 20%. This provides extra warmth, and gives that desired ‘halo’ effect.

Pam worked with me to get the package here in a short time frame. The bunny fiber is wonderful. I appreciated the fact the fiber was harvested via combing and not shearing. I think the fiber looks better when combed. Thanks so much!
