Who doesn't love Maggot? He sings, he gives advice, he talks like Peter Lorre, and he has an enormous gap between his front teeth. In sum, Maggot is my kind of guy!
This crochet pattern yields a Maggot (or if you prefer, a worm) who is roughly 13" long from the top of his head to the tip of his tail. He is lovingly modeled on the character in Corpse Bride, right down to his bloodshot eyes and brightly-colored lips. He is pretty simple to make, with required stitches including sc, HDC, and sc2tog (single crochet decrease). There are two color changes.
The pattern also includes instructions for using 20-gauge wire to make Maggot fully poseable, the way you see him here.
To make Maggot, you'll need all the colors of yarn you see here. You'll also need a scrap of black felt for his mouth, a scrap of white felt OR white fabric paint for his teeth, and black embroidery thread or fabric glue. Wire is optional, be sure you have a means to cut it (i.e. good scissors or a wire cutter).
After you place your order, you will automatically receive an email with a link to the file. No waiting! Hooray!
Note: Again, you're buying the crochet pattern, not the finished Maggot, and certainly not a real maggot. Because yuck.
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.
