The cushion is silk velvet in a maroon color bound with a cotton thread, with some early vintage pins. The basket has fancy “porcupine” (because they stick out) curls made from splint ash, which was a technique developed by the Passamaquoddy of Maine about 1860.
Circa 1890’s original from a Northeast American tribe, the Micmic.
3 inches X 3 ¼ inches in diameter.
CONDITION: The velvet is in very good condition with a little darkening (The nap is almost all there.). The basket is fine with no breaks. All original. A very nice example of this early sewing item.

Shipping & policies
Most of my items include the cost of shipping. For Canada & overseas, I will make an allowance for the US cost when quoting you a price.
I only charge actual postage cost & try to ship the most reasonable and safest way, so please email me if there seems to be a mistake in the postage posted (Items listed by pound may be less after I package.) I put paper items between cardboard so they have to be mailed 1st class parcel & I am fussy about my packing. I combine shipping costs when you buy more than one item. Let me know when you are done shopping and I will send you an invoice with payment options. Items of $50.00 or more require insurance.
I accept money orders, checks, and Paypal, Credit cards, & Amazon. Checks may be held until cleared.
