Composite mica is a combination of two natural substances: the mineral mica and shellac (a resin secreted by the female lac bug). Each resulting sheet of composite mica is unique in color, tone, and thickness. Please understand that part of the beauty in working with any kind of mica is its one-of-a-kind nature. I provide composite mica primarily for assemblage, collage, and book binding purposes, in sizes generally used in workshops I teach, but I am also happy to custom-cut to your specification.
