6 A.M. practices … 32 degrees … smelly equipment … hours on the road … Oh, the life of a hockey mom! Now as a retired hockey mom, I have found that hockey still fills my life in the form of crocheted hockey skate booties …

Since introducing the hockey skates into my Etsy shop, I have made over 300 pairs of skates and shipped them throughout the US and Canada as well as a few pair internationally. I have had so many requests for the pattern that I have been working on it for the past year. The pattern introduces a newly designed bootie to attach to the authentic-looking hockey skate blades.

In the form of an eBook, the Hockey Skate Bootie Pattern features, a page index, separate and complete directions for each size and many photographs. The rows/rounds are clearly marked and 14-point type is used throughout. There are helpful hints and gauge checks provided as well.

Sizes:
Preemie to Newborn – for even the littlest hockey fan but not a lot of room to grow!
Newborn to 3 months – for tiny feet and some room to grow as well!
3 to 6 months – the most popular size!
6 to 12 months – for the older infant who is not walking yet!
12 to 24 months – for bigger feet who are walking around … bladeless booties!

Skill level: Advanced Beginner who is able to crochet in the round and read patterns. Sewing is required to assemble the booties.

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (#4); Red Heart Super Saver recommended

Hook: E/3.5 mm, F/3.75 mm, G /4.25 mm or H/5.0 mm depending on the size.

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Back post double crochet (bpdc)
Half-double crochet two together (hdc2tog)
Single crochet (sc)
Single crochet in back loop (sc-blo) or front loop (sc-flo)
Single crochet two together (sc2tog)
