Item details

This is a digital copy of the Spring 1925 publication "Fashion Service" published quarterly by the Woman's Institute.
This is an incredibly hard to find book that features stunning fashions from the 1920's, and several articles on how to sew the dresses featured. There are no actual sewing patterns for the dresses included but there are several descriptive tutorials and diagrams that one could copy with great results.
An experienced seamstress would be able to take the instructions given and tailor the dresses and lingerie shown.
This book does actually feature a hat sewing pattern for a 'flexible satin hat".

The book is 54 pages of articles, lovely drawings, instruction and embellishment lessons for sewing beautiful clothing.

I love my incredible vintage pdf. file patterns I purchased from Mrsdepew! I bought 2 beautiful vintage publications - one a vintage collection of crocheted slippers, and the other a vintage dressmaking ebook featuring Hats, Dresses and Lingerie. Each publication .pdf file has had a lot of hard work gone into setting them up and it makes working from them and reading them a pleasure. They all included large, easy to see photos of the finished work which is so essential. My patterns, all in .pdf format, were instant downloads (yes!), opened cleanly and printed out perfectly. Anna, the owner of this wonderful shop, is warm and easy to talk to and is more than happy to help. She always makes a great transaction even more pleasant and fun. This shop is full of an amazing and incredible selection of vintage patterns of all sorts and is a a true pleasure to browse through them. I always enjoy checking in with this shop to see what lovely "new" vintage patterns are offered next. I would definitely recommend visiting Mrsdepew for a wonderful shopping experience that will spark your fashion imagination!

Additional policies

If you have any questions about printing:
Please feel free to email us, we'd be happy to help. (
We get about 100 emails a day so please don't be upset if we can't get to your questions right away. We try to answer all downloading and printing questions right away.

Please note that the purchase of a sewing pattern from Mrs. Depew Vintage entitles you to the following:
- a great sewing pattern that may not be available anywhere else.
- a prompt reply if you have trouble downloading or printing your pattern (digital orders).

Sadly, this does not include a sewing questions help line. If it did, we would have to hire an extra employee and an intern or two. These things would cost quite a bit of money and the cost of patterns would go up, and that would make everyone very sad. If you have a sewing question, there's a chance that we won't be able to get to it. As much as we would like to help every customer with their sewing questions, there just aren't enough hours in the day. That said, you're still very welcome to write in with your sewing questions. We don't mind and when we have a free moment, we try to help if we can. But if you don't get a timely response, please don't take it personally, there just aren't enough hours in the day and Mrs. Depew will crash and burn if she skips any more meals to try answer just one more email...
