Item details

This is genuine, and very old, fenceport wood from our property in Boulder. After sitting outside and being weathered for years, it has now been repurposed into a beautiful frame. While there are a lot of these frames in stores now-a-days, this was hand-made by our father...who is very picky about his mitered edges--they line up smoothly and are immensely tight. He even spent the time to antique the saw cuts by hand using a chisel and a screwdriver. The original warps, lines, and holes were left intact, but it's a solid frame.

Glass is included. Frame size is 8x10 and can be hung both vertically and horizontally. A small wooden peg is provided to help the frame free-stand if needed. While the peg is "twisted" into the hole(s) provided and should stay firm, we recommend using a dab of wood-glue to hold it a bit more securely on our larger frames.

No staining or finishing has been applied to this frame. The wood is in its original state. Even has the original hinge markings from the gate. ;)

Returns & exchanges

COASTERS & FRAMES: There are no refunds or exchanges on our coasters or frames as they are one of a kind and hand-made, they are nearly impossible to replicate. Thanks for your understanding.

RING DURABILITY: Because your ring is made of wood, it is subject to wear. Scratches on the surface or the loss of the glossy finish will not be covered by refunds or exchanges. See our FAQ section if you'd like tips on how to maintain your ring's life-length.

LIMITED RING WARRANTY: Our rings are covered against breaks due to craftsmanship errors for up to 1 year. Accidental breaks caused by owner negligence are not covered. There are certain situations that wooden rings can not be expected to endure, so again, please see our FAQ section for some helpful tips regarding these. If, however, your ring breaks in the first year, please send us a message so we can get you an address. Mail us the ring back and we'll either repair it or replace it. You only need to pay for shipping to us. We will pay for the shipping back.

Ring EXCHANGES: Please take the time to figure out your ring size beforehand. We recommend seeing a jeweler to get your correct size if you don't already know it. Please do not select a size that is too tight or too small hoping you'll "make it fit." Wood will expand and contract with heat and moisture. So it need to fit comfortably. If your ring is too large or too small, no refunds or exchanges can be made as we will make it to the size selected when you order. Please keep in mind each order is custom and made by hand, so it takes just as much material and time to create another ring.

Additional policies

Q: "What if my ring is way too small or too large?"

A: Our goal is to ensure that your order is made exactly to your size specifications. Prior to making your order please ensure that you have obtained the correct ring size. We cannot size your hand, so please make sure you order the appropriate size before you order.

Q: "How do I care for my ring and lessen its chances of breaking?"

A: The most important thing to remember is that these rings are made of wood, not metal. Again, we want you to wear them with purpose. There are a few things you shouldn't do while wearing a wooden ring, like say, weight lifting, but here are a few tips to help your ring last a lifetime:

*Avoid harsh chemicals (including hand sanitizer!)
*Take off your ring before any heavy lifting or construction activity.
*Avoid sharp impacts.
*Avoid prolonged or continuous exposure to water. We recommend not showering with your ring or doing dishes...although dishwashers are super handy these days if you can get one. ;)
*Use our wood-butter mixture as needed to keep it supple.

Q: "How long until I get my ring?"

A: Your ring will be finished and mailed in roughly 7-10 business days after your purchase order. Although if it's done sooner, we'll ship immediately! Several variables come into play that will determine how long it takes us to finish your ring..including the ring's details, the materials used, and the time of season.
