Item details

Want to make your own lovely little Regency shawl? A fichu was a light shawl, usually made of lace, that was worn around the shoulders or tucked into the front of a gown from the Regency era through early Victorian times.

This lace fichu is a perfect finishing touch to a Regency or Victorian outfit. Made of lace, point d'esprit or mesh, it is edged with lace trim.

NOTE: This listing is not for a finished fichu. It is for a pdf tutorial to make your own fichu.

***This is an epattern. No paper pattern will be shipped to you. Instead, the pattern will be available for instant download after purchase.***

This tutorial includes everything you need, a materials list, and step-by-step instructions fully illustrated with photographs (see examples).

Simple machine sewing is all that is required and the directions are simple and easy to follow. This is my own original pattern.

This pattern is for home use only.

I also have ready made fichus available.

FAQs

The best way to measure your head is to go across your forehead and just above your ears. You want to measure around the largest part of the head.

I accept returns. Please contact me before sending an item back. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. There is a 50% restocking fee for returns on custom made items. There is a 25% restocking fee for costume items purchased during September and October and returned after Halloween. Refunds will be issued to the account which made the purchase.

I can ship to any country, but it is the buyer's responsibility to find out about any fees, import taxes, or regulations regarding importing (this especially applies to feathers). I do not know the laws or import fees for each county and can't be held responsible for policies set by your government.

Shipping varies by destination, with shipments to some counties taking two to three weeks to arrive. Sometimes packages are held at local post offices and customers must pick them up in person and pay an import tax. This varies by country. Sometimes your post office notifies you and sometimes they don't. It is a good idea to track the package yourself (go to the You section of Etsy, select Purchases and Reviews, and hit the Track Package button) and check with your post office when you see that it has arrived. I have no control over this and can't help if your post office holds your package or charges a fee.

Priority Mail and Express Mail (both domestic and international) include insurance. First Class Mail (both domestic and international) does not. If you are worried that your package may not arrive safely, please choose a mail option with insurance. I am not responsible for lost packages once they have been accepted by the US Postal Service.
