This image is from a batik by Carol and hails the sun's warmth on the garden's crops. Carrots and beets, root vegetables, all grow from the beneficial effect of sun. This fabric shows the above and below ground view that I enjoy working with. The colorful patterns below represent the nutrients in the soil that promote growth. The bottom photo on the right shows me beginning to paint wax on the fabric with a tool called a tjanting. This tool has a brass bowl with a spout that is used to create wax lines that will resist the dye. Anyone loving the earth and growing things will love to own this cheerful fabric print.
The fabric, titled "Garden of Summer Growing Energy" measures 12" x 16" it is custom printed for me by Spoonflower. It is machine washable warm. Also available in a 10" x 36" panel for $21.00 and a larger panel 16" x 20" for $22.00. Also available in prints of many sizes, cutting board, cards and a trivet. Please check my other listings.
