Item details

The national emblem of Scotland, one thistle is said to have saved an entire Scottish army. A thousand years ago, during the Vikings invasion of Scotland, an advancing enemy warrior stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain inadvertently waking the sleeping Scotsmen. Scottish King Kenneth III was so grateful that he adopted the thistle as his nation's emblem.

The thistle is a beautiful symbol of a Celtic nation. I love the look of them -- tall, proud, able to stand up to all weather and survive. This Celtic Thistle stitch marker collection includes two thistles and two Celtic knots. The thistles are made of Czech glass beads, a tiny silver bead and bead cap, and a bugle bead. The end result is a wonderful interpretation of the proud plant and flower. The Celtic knots are paired with seed beads in violet and green.

There are three size options: small (fits up to US 8), medium (fits up to US 11), and large (fits up to US 15). I use solid clasps as the ring for the stitch markers so there is no chance of snagging your knitting. All wire is wrapped securely.

All of my stitch markers are available for crocheters. They may be made with lobster claw clasps or French ear wires -- either are suitable for crochet. If you'd like crochet markers, just message me at the time of purchase.

PLEASE NOTE: I work long hours at my RL job and that will affect the time I have to make and ship items. I have designated the approximate shipping time for each item -- look in the "Shipping & Policies" tab in the item listing for more information.

All international packages are sent international first class. Most international packages take 1-2 weeks to arrive, but if they are delayed in customs they may take up to 4-6 weeks to arrive.

Shipping charges are figured for 1st class postage for items that weigh less than 13 ounces and Priority for those weighing more than 13 ounces. If you'd like faster service, please contact me for adjusted shipping charges. The same is true with insurance. I would be happy to add insurance to your package -- please let me know if you'd like to pay for this service. Once you contact me, I'll set up a custom listing with your individualized shipping preferences.

SHIPPING PRICES: It's difficult to set shipping prices through Etsy's system and have them always be accurate. This is especially true with my painted china. If it works out that you pay too much for shipping, I would be happy to refund the difference. If you'd rather have me set up a custom listing with accurate shipping prices, please contact me. I am happy to do so. At this time, the shipping charges are less than it costs me to ship to some areas in the U.S.

Winemakerssister is not responsible for any damages that occur during shipping. Once your package leaves my hands, I can no longer control the handling.

SHIPPING DELAYS: I make every effort to ship out packages as soon as possible. But after the package leaves my hands, I no longer have any control over it. At that point it's in the hands of the US postal system, sometimes Santa Claus, and sometimes international customs offices. Unfortunately I have no other information than that shown by looking up the tracking number. Once a package is shipped, I send the buyer an email to let them know that it's on its way. The email includes the tracking number for the package. You can follow its journey by looking up the tracking number on the usps.com website.

Payment is due within 3 days. If you require longer time, please contact me to make arrangements.

I accept PayPal (preferred), credit cards through Etsy, and money orders. Sorry folks -- too many bounced checks. I am no longer accepting personal checks.

Returns & exchanges

I am proud of all my work and guarantee everything I make. I believe that you will be happily surprised with the quality of each of the shop's items.

If you wish to return an item, returns are accepted within 7 days in a secure package with delivery confirmation. Please send me the delivery confirmation number. Refunds are less shipping charges. Items must be in the same condition as they were mailed to you.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns. I would hate to learn that you're unhappy by reading your review of the item! If you are not completely happy, PLEASE contact me -- I want to make it right!!!

Unless there are extraordinary circumstances, refunds/returns are not available for custom items.
