Item details

~ Truffles are delicious delicacies that grow underground near oaks and other trees. They range in color from the black ones found in France to the white truffles of Italy. Because they are hidden, a trufflehunter is needed to sniff them out. The most popular trufflehunters are dogs and pigs, but lesser known trufflehunters include badgers and even snails! Trufflehunting season is usually in the fall or winter, depending on where you are hunting, so your doll will need to dress warmly! ~

This is my own crochet pattern, "Hunting for Truffles," that I designed for a 7-8" child doll, such as Riley and friends by Kish. You should probably be able to use this same pattern for Tiny Betsy McCall and Tiny Ann Estelle by Tonner, dollhouse Madeline, skinny Ginny, and the mini American Girl dolls.

Includes instructions to make a miniature toy badger, a basket for collecting truffles, a zippered and hooded coat for a doll, pillows with badger silhouettes, and a happy truffle blanket. Skill level = Intermediate; main material used: size 10 crochet cotton. (Note: The badger is made out of punch-embroidery yarn. You can substitute #10 crochet cotton with a smaller crochet hook, but you won't get the fuzzy texture of the punch-embroidery yarn. Punch-embroidery yarn can usually be found on eBay and here on Etsy.)

This listing is for the pattern only.

No shipping cost, as you can download the PDF file from Etsy immediately after purchase.

NOTE: If you find a valid mistake in one of my patterns and point it out to me, I will refund the cost of the pattern to you! (Applies only to individual patterns, not collections.) I want to make my patterns as perfect as possible!

Feel free to sell any items you make from my patterns, but please do not resell the patterns themselves or make them available online. They are copyrighted.

I have created many of my own patterns that have been published in various magazines (Crochet World, Quick & Easy Crochet, Barbie Bazaar, and Dollhouse Miniatures). I have had 2 crochet books published: "Twentieth Century Fashion Doll Collection" (2006) and "Playtime Jackets" (2011).
