The pattern is for a PREEMIE hat in two sizes and is knitted using US 6 (4.00mm) needles using light worsted/double knitting (DK)/8 ply yarn with a gauge of 22sts and 28 rows over 4" (equals 5.5 stitches per inch). The instructions for the following sizes are included in the pattern :

Circumference 9", Hat height 4"
Circumference 11", Hat height 4.5"
