Item details

Printable embroidery binder set. Keep track of all your embroidery projects and equipment with the printable pages that make up this embroidery journal. The set is available in pink, lavender, blue or black.

I designed the contents of this embroidery journal to use as a means of planning and documenting my embroidery projects. I also designed these pages as a way of keeping a record and inventory of all my embroidery supplies, equipment and sources. I have found them to be easy to use and very helpful.

I think you will enjoy using them too!

I like to keep my embroidery journal pages in a binder so I designed these as 8-1/2” x 11” pages which are perfect for an 8-1/2" x 11" binder of any width. To use, just print the pages you want, and either hole punch along the left edge of each page or place the pages in sheet protectors in your binder. You may print the pages as many times as you need, year after year and for project after project!

Pages in this journal:

Embroidery Project - This page is for recording and keeping track of all the pertinent information about your project. It is so nice to document all the details because you won’t necessarily remember the floss colors, fabric and stitches you used after completing the project. You will appreciate the ability to go back and refer to this page when you need to. There are sections on this page to include a swatch of your base fabric and color numbers and samples of the threads you used.

Embroidery Journal - This is a cover page for your binder.

Binder Spine Insert - These two pages have a selection of binder spine inserts in a variety of styles and widths.

Project Notes - This is the ideal place to jot down notes about your project. What are the special instructions, pitfalls, methods that work, things you would do differently next time, what worked and what didn’t. A nice record to read later!

Sketch / Inspiration - Use this page to plan and sketch out the design and look of your project. Try out color combinations. Attach pictures, samples or items that are your sources of inspiration.

To Do List - Keep tack of all the steps required for your project and how you want to accomplish them. Don’t forget to check each item off when completed!

Pattern List - Record all the patterns you have in your collection. Include all the important information such as pattern name, pattern manufacturer and all the details. This serves as a nice inventory record.

Thread Inventory - There are two thread inventory pages, each with a different format for recording all the thread you have in your collection. The first page is for all different types of thread and would be more suitable for inventorying a smaller but widely varied collection. The second page is intended for large collections of the same type of thread. Both of these pages have room to add thread samples - so important when keeping track of your inventory! The pages can be printed out numerous times so that you can easily record all of your threads.

Thread Conversion Chart - This helpful resource is for recording and keeping track of different thread brand’s numbers for the same color thread.

Thread Shopping List - Use this helpful page to record the colors you are running low on. Take it with you on your next shopping trip! There are sections to record the brand, color, number, size, the amount and the source.

Equipment List - Record all the equipment you have in your collection. Needles, hoops, frames etc. Record what you have and where it was purchased.

Wish List - Keep a record of the items you still need or want complete with all the pertinent details.

Resources - Record and keep track of all your sources for learning about embroidery, books you own or want, online inspiration and shopping sites for supplies.

Embroidery Patterns - This page is for marking the section of your binder where you keep all your patterns.

Since the embroidery journal is in pdf format, you do not need to wait for delivery or pay any shipping costs! Once you have made your purchase, I will promptly email it to you and you are ready to print it and start organizing!

This is perfect for keeping my embroidery projects organized!

Five stars, people! I remember looking for something, anything, to keep track of my embroidery. I have several patterns that I have used at different times in different contexts and hundreds of bobbins of floss. I received it very quickly, in the color I ordered (green) and in black because some pages are better that way, I guess. I want to say that I ordered green because my grandpa told me when I was young that green is the most relaxing color and easiest on the eyes because so much of nature is green. No idea if he was right. Don't care, really. Green reminds me of him and my lovely cousin Michelle (new mom!) and that's enough to make organizing less stressful. 😊Thank you so much for designing this! Made from the point of view of a fellow embroiderer, it includes all you could ever need. Super useful and cute.
