This antique Maryland postcard from the 1920s depicts the gravestone monument for Barbara Fritchie, a friend of Francis Scott Key. In good condition, the postcard shows slight wear at the corners, crayon marks on the back and some other brown smears on the back - see pictures. This postcard is UNUSED and measures 3 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" high with a white border. On the back, it has a divided side and is marked as published by Louis Kaufmann & Sons, Baltimore, MD.

Fritchee (1766-1862) lived in Frederick, MD and was buried there in Mt. Olive Cemetery. She participated with Mr. Key in a memorial service when George Washington died and she later became a well-known Unionist during the Civil War.

We package the items carefully, using high quality bubble wrap, boxes and padded envelopes. If the item you purchased is fragile or of high value, we will add insurance to the shipping costs.
