Item details

Grow the ingredients for homemade gourmet pizza or other savory treats - right in your own backyard. Just what you need for pizza sauce, herbs and toppings - everything but the cheese! Fall-planted garlic and onions and perennial herbs mean you'll be ready for next year, too. Included in this plan are Roma and cherry tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers, zucchini, basil, rosemary, oregano, sage, spinach and arugula.

This plan was developed for a 4' x 4' (16 square feet) raised bed garden.

Knowing what to plant, when, and how much is difficult for even experienced gardeners. Our vegetable garden designs have been developed to guide gardeners of any experience level in turning their into productive, intensively planted gardens from early spring until late fall.

Developed by a professional chef, our garden planting plans are based on easy, intuitive square foot gardening techniques, which divide your raised bed into individual square feet and specify ideal spacing for each plant in the garden.

The plan is a full color, illustrated pdf document that tells you what vegetables, herbs and flowers to plant, where to plant them and when, to maximize your garden's yield year-round. Planting and expected harvesting dates, plant height and space requirements and other valuable information are included. Also includes general organic and square foot gardening hints and tips to help you grow a healthy and productive garden.

Planting dates range from March to October, ensuring a continuous harvest and optimal timing for each crop of your garden. Note: If you are starting your garden later in the spring, no problem - you can just skip the mid-March plantings of spinach and onions and start with the May and June plantings.

Includes as a bonus a section with general organic and square foot gardening hints and tips.

Note the plan is not suitable for conventional row gardens; it is developed for a 4' x 4' raised bed. You can grow two side by side for an 8' bed if you like, or you can visit our website to view other size options.

Spring, summer and fall plantings. Requires a 4' wide trellis or other vertical support.
