My cloak is come home. I like it very much, and can now exclaim with delight, like J. Bond at hay-harvest, "This is what I have been looking for these three years." -Jane Austen to Cassandra, 1799
The Hooded Cloak was extraordinarily popular from the 1600's until the mid Victorian Era. This pattern gives options for a woman's hooded cloak (perfect for protecting your gown while you travel to your next ball!) as well as a Man's Caped Opera Cloak with Collar.
If you look at the additional images, you will find the measurements, as well as a film still and a period sketch showing how the cloak could be worn with the hood down. The final image shows an extant example of the now famous Red Cloak, so popular throughout the Regency.
This pattern contains sizes XS-S-M-L

Good pattern as usual from McCalls but I used a hood pattern from Kannik's Korner as I needed a later design for about 1815 and my wool fabric didn't gather to the degree needed for the hood in the pattern. Shall try it though with thinner wool for my Georgian Gown.
