Here's my latest craft kit idea! A friend gave me some Chinese lanterns, that were left over from a patio party. I looked at them for about 2 weeks, and I suddenly saw armadillos. The lantern body is about 3" in diameter and the only small parts are wiggle eyes - got to have wiggle eyes.
The hardest part of construction is opening and securing the lantern with a metal support. It will take a little manual (adult) dexterity, but from there on out, your child can take over. Most all of my craft kits can be assembled without using scissors, glue or paint. They go together quickly and neatly, and best of all, give your child a great sense of accomplishment. I try very hard to have the craft look as realistic as possible, and I love to make unusual things. This little guy makes a great A - alphabet craft, or provides an opportunity to learn about a new creature.
I don't have a limitless supply of the lanterns, so when they are gone, they're gone.
I will include simple instructions, a book suggestion, and a themed coloring page.
Thanks for looking!
