Here's my PDF knitting pattern for a 12cm long herring gull called Jeff. He is knitted flat in one piece with separate knitted wings and beak. You can use cream, grey, and yellow DK yarn of your choice, and a pair of 4mm knitting needles. You'll receive a PDF knitting pattern with detailed knitting and making-up instructions, with colour photos to help you on your way.
I live in a sleepy seaside town on the South Coast of England, and these seagulls are a constant source of entertainment... and noise. They're usually the first thing I hear every morning, a coastal dawn chorus. Hopefully the knitted version will be just as entertaining and I can guarantee it will be a lot less noisy!
Please note that this listing is just for a PDF pattern, not a completed gull.
There's also a Jeff the Seagull knit kit available in my Etsy shop which contains this knitting pattern, plus all the yarn, stuffing and notions you will need to knit 2 Jeffs.
This is an updated pattern based on my small seagull pattern that I used to have on sale - it was one of the first patterns that I wrote, so I thought it was time to update it, and make it easier and clearer to use. The original pattern had felt details and wire legs - this new Jeff 2.0 is just knitted.
If you like this pattern, you will probably enjoy my book Knitted Birds, published by Search Press. There's patterns for over 30 different birds to knit - including robins, blackbirds, blue tits and an osprey! You can buy the book from any good book shop - or buy a copy from my Etsy shop and I'll be happy to sign a copy for you. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/244171570/knitted-birds-book-by-nicky-fijalkowska?ref=shop_home_active_5
