Some pieces may need to be joined before cutting fabric. All pieces are clearly marked.
Sized to an AG doll measuring 11" at the chest and 10 3/8" at the waist.
The original dresses were made using white India muslin that was very sheer. It was hand embroidered using colored woolen threads in patterns of flowers or vines and buds. A white muslin underdress was worn underneath as well as very sheer muslin pantalettes and a corselet or brassiere.
The pattern features two dresses of the same design. The 1800's dress has wider sleeves and a shorter train. The French Empire dress has narrower sleeves and a longer train. They can be interchanged.
Both dresses have the empire length waistband that joins the slender width skirt to the bodice. The front bodice gathers at the center front along the top and lower edges. It is square at each side of the chest and at the back shoulders. The bodice is fully lined. It closes in the back with snap tape or snaps on lightweight fabrics. Hook and loop fastener could be used on cotton type fabrics.
The sleeves are extra puffy with giant gathers on the shoulders and the narrow sleeve bands.
The dress skirts are long and slender. Both have the French Empire style train. They have a 3/4 inch hem.
These dresses are not very complicated to make if you have a basic understanding of sewing.
The pattern prints on 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper.
