Item details

This is a made to order item, please allow a week for me to make it for you.

One of my earliest memories of the wonderful world of textiles was playing in the sewing cabinet when I was very little & finding a felted needle case made by my mother when she was at school. It was a pear with dark green skin & when opened had a pale orange centre for sticking needles through.
I was fascinated by this lovely handmade, useful object. So, many years later I have decided to create my own version!

This juicy orange is an extremely fun & useful way to store needles & pins away safely, a sure way to bring a smile to any needlework enthusiasts face.

I have created the textured orange peel on the front using French Knots in various shades to add dimension & depth. The leaf veins are stitched using fern stitch.
The orange opens up as if you had just cut it in half, with lots of room for needles or for different items like safety pins or dressmaking pins .

Diameter: 4" (10cm)
