Are you a fan of bead shops, craft stores, and gem shows when they come in town? Do you end up with several strands of gorgeous beads....or even just a couple of left over beads that you thought you could use for a necklace project but it didn't lay straight due to the hole being on a skinny neck of the bead?
I fell in love with a strand of Amethyst beads that had such a unique structure. They were clearly hand carved since every bead was slightly different. Being a gem cutter (lapidary) myself, I know the time that it took to make these precious little works of art. Yet the beads were only $5 for a whole strand! I had to buy a couple of strands. When I got home, I realised how hard it is to work with beads that have the holes in an irregular place so these ended up in my gem drawer for two years.
Finally, this design came to me. It can also be used for lampwork beads, briolettes, or any beads that have a hole that is drilled horizontally on the top of the bead. After you have all of your materials assembled, they only take a few minutes to make each pair, so it is a great design for people who want to sell at craft fairs or Christmas shows.
As an added bonus, I'm including a variation that turns the beads into angels - perfect for the holidays or for people who are angel fans.
You are welcome to duplicate and sell the designs that you create from this tutorial, but the tutorial itself is copyrighted so you are not allowed to duplicate or distribute the tutorial without my express permission.

Returns & exchanges
I am happy to refund your money on purchases lost or damaged in the mail. These items are delicate so if you have a baby or toddler that likes to tug and pull, please let me know and I will see if I can create a more durable necklace for you using multiple crimp beads. I have a toddler of my own and pretest many of my necklaces before I ship them out.
It takes at least 3 hours to source supplies, design and build necklaces, photograph and upload the photos and post on this website. For earrings, it takes at least an hour for the same process. With this in mind, you can realise the value of purchasing a one of a kind, handmade necklace or earrings. These are not your average necklaces that you would find in a mass produced $10 jewelry shop.
For the gemstones, I purchase them from gem and jewelry shows and lapidary clubs.
