The colorful appliqued Baltimore Album quilts of the 1800's inspired me to interpret these designs in black embroidery on a soft Batik background providing this quilt with a rich, old world look with a modern twist.
Using a variety of simple embroidery stitches, these blocks can easily be stitched by embroiderers of all skill levels (beginner to advanced).
Finishes to a 32" X 41" wall hanging.
This listing is for the pattern only.
- For each embroidery block, you will receive a one sheet pattern that has:
- a full size black & white line drawing that can be traced onto fabric of your choice
- a color picture of the block
- detailed stitching instructions
- a supply list
- A color picture of the quilt
- Detailed finishing directions and layout for the quilt
Many of my customers are using these redwork embroidery patterns to make pillows, framed pictures and purses. The pineapple block from this quilt is very popular as a pillow, because the pineapple has been used as a symbol of "welcome" and "hospitality" for centuries.
