For sale are two auto ads, one for the 1959 Ford Thunderbird and the other for the 1959 Chevy Nomad station wagon. These are the original pages from a magazine, however there is no magazine name or issue date on the bottom or the reverse side of the two pages. They both measure approximately 12 and 3/4 inches high by 9 and 3/4 inches wide.
The Thunderbird ad has a women's fashion theme with three models placed around the car, one in casual attire, one in formal and the other in a business suit. The lower part of the page includes short write-ups on each and credit is given to "Costume by Scaasi" under the formal dress and "Suit by Scaasi" under the business attire. Arnold Scaasi is an acclaimed fashion designer, especially famous for his business suits and evening wear. The 1959 Thunderbird was a second generation Thunderbird and much of the advertising was generated toward women.
The Thunderbird in this ad is white or off-white. Earlier photos I had included in this listing had a pink hue to them and this car is definitely white not pink.
The Chevy Nomad station wagon pictured in this ad indicates "...you can stow a whole half-ton of gear" in the back.
Both ads have staple marks along the edge that was bound. There is a small piece missing of the upper right hand corner of the Chevy ad and a tear at the top edge near the right hand corner straight down through the border just into the ad that measures approximately 1 and 1/4 inches. Both ads have yellowed a bit with age.
Please see photos for additional condition details and don't hesitate to ask questions. Thanks for looking!
