An early Marlboro man. The "Marlboro Man" ad campaign started in 1955, and this ad is from 1959.
This is my favorite Marlboro Man ads of the ones I have on offer in my shop. The artwork is so moody and looks like a painting. Great red/black tones. And -- AMAZING to me -- he has a musician's baton in hand, and he's concentrating on a piece of music. The Marlboro Man is conducting a band or orchestra. It shows him to be, not just a tough guy, but a Renaissance man. Love it.
This item is extracted from a 1959 magazine.
