I think it’s important to address comfort, style, and fun on bikes because–whether or not we admit it–some days these things truly cause us to reach for the keys instead of the helmet.
This listing is for the downloadable instructions to crochet your own skirt guards.
The kit with both instructions and materials to crochet your own skirt guards is in my shop here: https://www.etsystudio.com/listing/166644791
I do not sell hand made skirt guards at this time.
This bicycle skirt guard crochet pattern eliminates worries about cycling in our prettiest skirts and dresses. Not long ago, many bikes accommodated fashions with metal guards like these. Perhaps casual dress made them obsolete, but I say let’s bring guards and skirt cycling back for good!
Installation is a breeze: snap them on the fender with a handful of binder clips, and easily snap off again to wash or swap for another color.
If you’ve never crocheted lace before, this is a great starter project because it uses a larger thread and hook than most lace, so it works up faster and quicker. I wrote the pattern with beginners in mind, so all you need to know is how to count and do single through triple crochet. Each size hooks up in just a few hours. Why, you’ll be able to make one to match every ModCloth dress in your closet!
