Item details

These Monkey Business Brass drawer pulls or door knobs come in a two-piece set that would look right at home in a tropical house.

They come as a matching pair with the monkeys crouched and facing each other.

Made in Indonesia, these are solid, textural pieces of cabinet hardware that you'll delight in each time you open the drawers or cupboard doors on which they feature. They each come complete with a Phillips-head (crosshead) screw for attachment.

PAYPAL is my preferred method of payment. Don't have it? You can still pay that way using your credit card. Just click on the PayPal icon at checkout and follow the prompts.

You can find more drawer pulls in my cabinet hardware section here - https://www.etsy.com/shop/Indounik?section_id=7349429

Shipping: These items will ship from Bali via Pos Indonesia registered mail with a tracking number, and will need to be sign for on delivery. I generally ship more quickly than the 3-5 days listed in my profile but sometimes need more leeway if it's rainy season or there are a lot of religious ceremonies. Unfortunately shipping on these items is quite steep because they're weighty. You can get better value on postage by adding other items as I'm happy to combine shipping. I refund on overpayments of $1 or more.

BACK STORY:
While Ubud is Bali's art and culture capital, it boasts many other drawcards, one of them being its famed Sacred Monkey Forest - Wenara Wana.

It's not the monkeys who are sacred but rather the forest and the temples that are located within its boundaries.

To quote from the the official website of the forest, "Not only are ancestral spirits and gods given offerings and prayers, but also the spirits of trees and statues in the Monkey Forest are given offerings and prayers by the Pemangku and local villagers."

The forest administrators and Udayana University researchers have identified 115 different tree species in the forest, including some that are considered holy and thus are used in various Balinese spiritual practices.

The simian occupants of the forest are long-tailed macaques, and and there are more than 600 of them in four distinct troops.

The Sacred Monkey Forest is also an important ecological reserve and visitors are asked to treat its plants and animals with respect.

“Most films I've worked on have had large casts, but they've been wonderful people. I think the monkey in Pirates of the Caribbean is the most temperamental costar I've had. It would throw tantrums like you wouldn't believe." ~ Australian Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush

These items, two cute little money drawer pulls, are just adorable and are exactly what I was looking for. In addition, the seller is incredible. Upon learning that my students were doing a project on different cultures around yhe world, she included a local newspaper and personal note, a flag and instructions on how it is used, a sticker and a small drawstring bag. She is a beautiful person, and I'm very grateful to have done my business with Indounik. More will follow!
